A machine has many functions and most have been plenty helpful to humans. They have become instruments for our daily tasks and more. But can humans be the instruments to the becoming of machines as artists? In Autoportraits, Nice Buenaventura uses the functions of different machines for each to create artworks of their own. From the way a printer makes a sound as it's rendered to a different machine to create a syntax that's unique to the sound it was fed with, before producing a 3D image through the syntax entered into the system of the printer. The process comes to a full circle thus the exhibition's title: Autoportraits.
